CHOOSING A HOT TUB

Shapes, Sizes, Ins and outs, All-around good looks.
Hot tubs are square, and round, and rectangular, - and more. They are small enough to seat just two, big enough for family and friends, - and everything in-between! The most popular type is the Protec™ Hot Tub. It's completely self-contained, with all the necessary components - pumps & heaters tucked away under a convenient safety step. Installation is a breeze, either indoors or out. And you can take it with you if you move.

What's the best way to find the right Hot Tub?
Sit down and relax in them! Some Hot Tubs offer multi-level seating for people of different body types. Some feature comfortable built-in loungers. It's important to choose the Hot Tub that matches your idea of perfect relaxation.

The one best shell material
Every Hot Tub looks great in the showroom. But how will it look in a few months or years? You'll soon notice that Hot Tubs with really deep, rich, lustrous colors have one thing in common. They are made with Acuralux™ acrylic. Cast acrylic is a non-porous material that is highly resistant to the chemical stains, high temperatures, and overall punishment that can ruin other Hot Tub materials. And acrylic's high gloss finish is easy to clean...unlike the textured surfaces of other materials. As for colors, you can choose your Hot Tub in shades ranging from soft and classic to bold and elegant. All are created to keep their good looks for years.

Ready? Take the plunge!
Now comes the exciting part...shopping, comparing, choosing. You probably have a dozen questions to ask. Your local Beachcomber Hot Tub dealer will have the answers. Remember to look for Hot Tubs made with Acuralux™ cast acrylic. It's your assurance of a home Hot Tub that will give you years of beauty, pleasure, and satisfaction.

THE HOT TUB BUYER'S CHECKLIST
Some key considerations in selecting your new Hot Tub.
* Is the jetting laid out with consideration of my real needs?
* Am I really comfortable when I sit in it?
* Is it the proper size for my needs?
* Will my dealer provide the installation and service assistance I need?
* Does it have sufficient insulation?
* Does it include a child-proof safety cover?
* Is it in my price range?
* Does the color please me?
* Does the Hot Tub come with a warranty or a guarantee?

Heat: how much is enough?
Most people set their Hot Tub thermostats just above body temperature (37 degrees C or 92.4 Degrees F). Just remember, the closer to body temperature, the longer you can enjoy your soak (Pregnant women and people with heart conditions or high blood pressure should consult a doctor for the best temperature limits to observe.)
Make sure to select a well-insulated Hot Tub. You should also make sure your Hot Tub comes with an insulating Hot Tub cover. A well-insulated, average-size Hot Tub with a good cover can cost literally, pennies a day.
Beachcomber offers an optional Power SmartŪ Eco-Cover that seals in the heat like a thermos bottle.

Maintenance: no big deal.
Your new Hot Tub will be so beautiful, you may be tempted to fuss over it. Resist the urge! If the shell is made of Acuralux™, Hot Tub maintenance is as easy as wiping it with a few drops of Tub Cleaner, and No, you do not need to drain the hot tub after each use. But you should keep an eye on water quality. Testing and proper treatment will keep water clean and inviting. Your Hot Tub dealer can provide recommendations on the products for easy use.

Draining and refilling is normally required about every three months. Your portable Hot Tub will come with its own filtration system. And the filter cartridge will need to be removed and cleaned from time to time.

To keep small youngsters and pets out of it, be sure you have a cover that can be locked in place when your Hot Tub is not in use. After your Hot Tub is drained, wipe the surface with a soft cloth or sponge. If the shell is made of Acuralux™ finish, a mild cleaner will restore it to showroom luster... year after year. Your Beachcomber Hot Tub dealer can tell you about the many benefits of Acuralux™.

Its Easy to get your Feet Wet!
Your Beachcomber Dealer can handle all the aspects of installing your Hot Tub. When planning your installation, here are some points to consider. For an outdoor location, comfort and convenience are key issues. Does your site offer privacy and easy access? For concrete slab or deck installations, follow the manufacturer's construction recommendations for proper support. Your Hot Tub will need a source of electricity. Your Dealer will be able to provide details of power requirements. Be sure to ask about any applicable local electrical codes, and follow the instructions in the Beachcomber Owner's Guide.

The Heart of a Hot Tub
For just a moment, we'd like to open our heart and show you what we mean when we say a Hot Tub is well-built. Hot Tubs that are portable-constructed install their power source underneath, inside the spa cavity. It means the equipment takes up space that could be filled with insulation. This, in turn, means the Hot Tub can be about 25 per cent less energy-efficient.

Also, installing the power source under the Hot Tub, inside the cavity, makes it less accessible and more difficult to service. Beachcomber has a better idea. We think the best way to build a Hot Tub to withstand Canadian winters is to use the total foam-fill Hot Tub construction method. Hot tubs built in this manner receive the portable Protec™ Hot Tub designation.

When you look at a Hot Tub, it can be difficult to tell if it is well-built, comfortable or energy efficient. There's no guessing with Protec™. To earn the Protec™ designation, the Hot Tub must meet certain technical requirements that ensure it is well-built, comfortable and energy efficient. Every Beachcomber Hot Tub goes through stringent quality and performance tests. In a Beachcomber Hot Tub with the Protec™ designation, the power source is placed outside the Hot Tub cavity and cabinet. This allows our technicians to install more insulation around the Hot Tub itself. High levels of insulation help reduce heat loss while maintaining even temperatures - even when the weather is at its coldest.

View the 20 features that make Beachcomber Hot Tubs' Protec™ designation unique. This guide explains various features and how they contribute to the energy-efficiency, comfort and quality of Beachcomber Hot Tubs. It also describes the construction methods used to ensure that every Beachcomber Hot Tub "lives up to its billing." And it summarizes what to keep in mind while you're shopping. Well-built, comfortable and energy efficient.
