MULTIPORT VALVES

The Multiport Valve is a very cost effective method of controlling the water flow through a filter by using one simple control. There are normally 6 positions for the Valve Handle to select, they are:-

FILTER - Used for Filtering and normal vacuuming. Water flow is directed from the pump to the top of the Filter tank, and effluant is directed from the bottom of the filter tank back to the pool.

BACKWASH - This position is used for Backwashing only. Water from the Pump is directed to the bottom of the Filter Tank, and the effluent from the top of the Filter Tank is directed to Waste.

RINSE - This position is used to Rinse the Filter bed after Backwashing. Water from the Pump is directed to the Top of the Filter Tank, and effluent coming from the bottom of the tank is directed to waste.

WASTE - In this position all water from the Pump by-passes the Filter Tank and goes directly to Waste. Use this position only when draining the pool or when vacuuming a pool with excessive sediment.

RECIRCULATE - In this position water from the Pump by-passes the Filter Tank and is returned to the pool, thus achieving Maximum Flow.

CLOSE - This position shuts off the pipe-line connecting the pump to the Multiport Valve. It is used only when the Pump Strainer Lid is removed, and prevents water flowing out by gravity through the open top.

Multiport valves are available for pipe sizes 1.5", 2", 3", and 4"
